Urodzona w Belleville, Ontario, od 5. roku życia lata dziecięce spędziła w pobliskim Napanee. Została odkryta podczas śpiewania coverów country w księgarni Chapters w Kingston. I'm with You jest trzecim singlem z debiutanckiej płyty Avril Lavigne Let Go. Avril napisała go z zespołem The Matrix, który później oskarżył ją, że nie zasługuje na tytuł autora piosenki, bo zmieniła tylko kilka słów. Avril obroniła się z tych zarzutów.

Po wypuszczenia singla na rynek zawojował on na listach przebojów. Piosenka znajduje się na soundtracku do filmu "Bruce Wszechmogący" Singiel, jak określił go fotograf David LaChapelle, jest skierowany do osób samotnych, które nie mogą znaleźć bratniej duszy.

Utwór został napisany został przez Avril Lavinge oraz zespół Matrix, który również wyprodukował piosenkę. Keep Holding On to piosenka Avril Lavigne, stworzona na potrzeby filmu fantasy Eragon z roku 2006. Autorami utworu są Avril Lavigne oraz Lukasz 'Dr. Luke" Gottwald, który był również producentem kompozycji. "Keep Holding On" to pierwszy utwór promujący ścieżkę dźwiękową filmu "Eragon" - w Stanach Zjednoczonych promowany był przez stacje radiowe od listopada 2006.

Urodzona w Belleville, Ontario, od 5. roku życia lata dziecięce spędziła w pobliskim Napanee. Została odkryta podczas śpiewania coverów country w księgarni Chapters w Kingston. Urodzona w Belleville, Ontario, od 5. roku życia lata dziecięce spędziła w pobliskim Napanee. Została odkryta podczas śpiewania coverów country w księgarni Chapters w Kingston. Avril Lavigne w dzieciństwie interesowała się hokejem, baseballem i jazdą na deskorolce. W wieku dziesięciu lat miała swój pierwszy solowy występ w chórze kościelnym. Niedługo potem piosenkarka zaśpiewała razem z kanadyjskim piosenkarzem Stephenem Meddem, który wydał płytę zatytułowaną My Window to You, na której znalazły się trzy pierwsze piosenki Avril zachowane w klimatach muzyki folk (Temple of Life, Touch the Sky, Two Rivers). Już wtedy Avril miała swojego pierwszego menedżera, Cliffa Fabri. Ten namówił ją na wyjazd do USA i współpracę z amerykańską wytwórnią płytową Arista. Piętnastominutowy występ wystarczył na podpisanie kontraktu na nagranie dwóch następnych albumów. Lavigne jednak przerwała nagrywanie płyty, ponieważ uznała, że nie może śpiewać nie swoich piosenek. Po pewnym czasie powiedziała przedstawicielom Aristy, że sama pisze teksty piosenek. Materiał zaczęto nagrywać na nowo. Artystka pracowała z Cliffem Magnesem ze studia Matrix, który pomagał jej w nagraniu debiutanckiej płyty.

Pierwsza płyta, wydana w 2002, nosiła tytuł Let Go. Krążek promował singel Complicated. Na płycie znalazło się trzynaście solowych utworów. Płyta sprzedała się aż w czternastu milionach egzemplarzy. Druga płyta, Under My Skin, ukazała się w 2004 (premiera w Polsce odbyła się 24 maja).

Avril Lavigne zagrała również w filmie Jazda na maksa (ang. Going the distance) jedną z ról epizodycznych. Podłożyła głos w filmie animowanym Skok przez płot (ang. Over the Hedge) małemu oposowi Heatcher. Gra też w dramacie Fast food Nation i filmie sensacyjnym The Flock. Zagra też główną rolę w filmie Twist of Fate. Na początku 2006 gwiazda została modelką Forda - jednej z najlepszych agencji modelek.

15 lipca 2006 Avril Lavigne wyszła za mąż za wokalistę zespołu Sum 41 Derycka Whibleya. 13 kwietnia 2007 ukazała się jej trzecia płyta pt. The Best Damn Thing. Pierwszym singlem z niej pochodzącym jest przebojowy i skoczny Girlfriend. Album jest zupełnie inny niż Under My Skin – zabawny, energiczny i beztroski. W 2006 piosenkarka wspólnie z amerykańskim kompozytorem Łukaszem Gottwaldem napisała piosenkę Keep Holding On, która znalazła się na ścieżce dźwiękowej do przygodowego filmu fantasy Eragon. Piosenka ta była kandydatem do nominacji Amerykańskiej Akademii Filmowej. Piosenkarka jest także współautorką tekstu piosenki Breakaway Kelly Clarkson, która odniosła wielki sukces.

I'm with You jest trzecim singlem z debiutanckiej płyty Avril Lavigne Let Go. Avril napisała go z zespołem The Matrix, który później oskarżył ją, że nie zasługuje na tytuł autora piosenki, bo zmieniła tylko kilka słów. Avril obroniła się z tych zarzutów.

Keep Holding On to piosenka Avril Lavigne, stworzona na potrzeby filmu fantasy Eragon z roku 2006.
